Hey guys,
I'm putting together a 150 FOWLR in a enclosed closet with a sump etc. in the basement. I'm concerned about heat build up in the enclosure so my normal inclination to use T5 has been replaced with the desire to use LED.
I was thinking about a couple of those MARS ebay led's. If you guys have any suggestions on something better that won't break the wallet I'd appreciate it. Jerry.

I went with the chinese black box lights for my 150 fowlr build the other day. Figured, what if I wanted to convert over to lps or something. I felt for the price it was hard to beat. Someone here actually posted a coupon the other day and I jumped on it. Picked up two for $150! Well they are "galaxy hydro" not mars aqua but.... same lights.

Just make sure they are white and blue leds only and not full spectrum. If you use the full spectrum leds you will likely get cyano and algae issues due to the red, yellow, and green leds. I got 3 of those off of ebay for my 210 fowlr and eventually figured it out and had to tape over all the red, yellow, and green. For about $100 each you can get the current marine orbit off of amazon, I'm using 3 of these on my 125 and like them so much better.

Hey Cougar, was not able to find those lights on Amazon. Looks like all they have is the Pro model?

I was using them on my grow out tanks then bought another one to cover the length of my 125, which is 72" i believe the same as your 150 right. These are the ones I got, good features for the price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GFTK7CQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was going to check these out but have not used them myself. https://www.21ledusa.com/aquarium_led_reefbar_pro_72_inch_5050_p/rbp505066.htm

I'm kinda stuck on making my own. Makers and Rapid both have decent DIY kits, but I prefer to just use their heat sinks and get the LEDS and drivers from China to save $$$.

Thanks for the links. Those Orbits at 60" for a my 150 are $175 each. I'm not sure I need the remote and fancy features of that light for a FOWLR. Still debating my best approach but may go with the cheap EBAY LED's and see if can get adequate lighting with minimal heat.

I am using the Aqueon modular led's on my tanks and am very happy with them.
