Strange things on the glass...

I was cleaning the front glass of my tank today and there were these very small, pinkish looking things on the glass. They looked almost like they had a whirl or star-shaped pattern to them. Kind of like these star-shaped snails I saw once... but these were really, really small, like the head of a pin, maybe, and they weren't moving. I've never seen them before. Any ideas?

I don't even know how I would take a picture. They are that tiny. I can try tomorrow.

Sounds like they could be spirorbid worms, which are harmless.
