Wrasses for a 250GAL Reef tank

hello my friends,

I never had wrasses in my previous tank, and love their colors and shapes.

At the moment i have a 250GAL REEF tank,

I thinking to add 3 or 4 wrasses.

I dont have any experience whit them, i dont know which are better to be whit other wrasses and fishes.

Can advice me?

Most of the Fairy and Flasher Wrasses would work well. They are always out and about and are very active. They are 100% reef safe and don't require a sand-bed for sleeping.

Many of the Halichoeres species are also a good choice; they also are very active, but some may take a liking to your cleanup crew. Many will eat pests in the tank. All require a sandbed for sleeping.

I have 9 wrasses in my 120G and love them all.

I really like the leopard wrasses, however they are more difficult to keep. Hence why I have none in my tank :lol:

I really like the non reef safe wrasses. Jansen's wrasse - navy blue torpedo with yellow stripes; red coris wrasse - red with electric blue spots; checkerboard wrasse - black silver and yellow; comb wrasse - white with black comb and orange stripping. These are all a little bigger than your reef safe wrasses and everything including corals needs to be locked down tight because they like moving stuff around when they hunt for food in the rockwork.

You could probably do about 3 of the larger wrasses with other fish in a 250. I have a Jansen's wrasse in my 120g with other fish. I totally gave up the ability to have a CUC or clams.
