Hey guys. I'm wanting to add some Anthias to my tank. A harem of 3 +. Just wanted to get your guys' opinion on compatibility with current stock list and tank specs. Will be the last addition of fishes to the tank. Thanks.

Canary Blenny x 2
Starry Blenny
Pink Bar Shrimp Goby (basslet ate the snapping shrimp....)
Cleaner Shrimp x 2
Snails

you will no problem with adding them. I will say you will have to feed more most likely and already looks like youre dealing with hair algae. what is filtration?

I would suggest 3-4 female lyretails and then one of them will change to a male.

Yeah your good. Some resplendent or Randalls would be nice in that tank size.

I would go with a trio of Lyretails as well. Get them all as juvenile (female) and let them sort things out. It is very cool to see the transformation that one will go through to become the male.

An advantage of Lyretails is that they can easily go with a single feeding daily, unlike most (if not all) others in the family.

You be good, but keep an eye out on that Black Cap with newcomers.

In my experiences, either you do 5 or 6 of them or just do 2.
If you have 3, both the male and the big female will bully the smallest female and it won't be good. If you have 5 or 6 of them, the chasing will be spread out more and no one is under constant stress. In a small tank like that, a pair of Lyretail Anthias will be nice, a female actually follow the male around.

Thanks for the replies. Question, if I add a single male first (or female and let it transform), then add more females later, would this be ok? Or if I get 3, and the weakest one gets picked on, will it be ok to add more females then?

Have the tank feed into an other 100G system with oversized skimmer, GFO, and carbon. Just fired up the lights on this tank 3 weeks ago. Getting some soft, fuzzy algae on the rocks, not GHA. Snails are going at it ok. Will add couple of more turbo if the algae looks like its getting the upper hand.

Not so concern of the bioload nor extra feeding, but with whether there is enough rocks/hiding spots for the fishes to share.

Definitely. It gets unhappy for couple of days every time a new comer is in. Ate a 3/4" pistol shrimp mere seconds of adding it to the tank. One gulp, and all I see is the bigger claw hanging outside of its mouth. Brought it back to its cave, I heard one snap from the shrimp, then it was the last I've seen of it.
