Can a reactor be ran backwards? I want to run carbon and was thinking it would be better to have it pushed down instead of up.

I think, you can connect the outlet of the reactor to the pump (instead of inlet).

Just wonder why you would do like this?

Yes. IMHO that is the best way to do it.

That's exactly how I do it with Carbon..I use the Rox carbon and it tends to float to the top until its more saturated with water.

Running it in "Reverse flow" pushed it down and it didn't escape from the reactor for me.

Haha, I know why you run "reverse flow". I'm using Seachem Matrix Carbon without any float
