It is cyano.

Yes, that is cyano. Not too huge of a concern unless it starts going crazy. I've had small amounts of cyano in my tanks from time to time. Just take a look at your nutrients and make sure they are in check.

Well, looking the same spot today, and I think somebody is liking that cyano! More than me!

I adopted my aquarium and it was covered in cyno 1st I took tooth brush and scrubbed everything or if you have powerful powehead you could just sweep around with it in your hand haha mine worked awesome. Keep in mind incereased water flow always a plus possibly may need 2 powerheads if 40 gal or more 2nd do huge water change with ro/di or distilled at minimum tap water WILL NOT HELP! And make sure you clean your substrate well when doing so suck as much of the scrubbed/blown off cyno 3rd clean up crew snails 10 at least I also got hermit crabs sand sifting sea stars and yellow headed goby if you don't have too many fish as it is remember if you can't keep the bioload down with a skimmer and water changes then you may have to loose some fish:(

Glad to hear younwere able to get rid of cyano.

I'm still observing and I believe one of the root causes is my old T5 tube.

Yesterday I just ran my LEDs and I fed less, just once a day.

I have a Maxpect Gyre, were usually I run at 30% during the day, and I vamped to 50%.

I don't think I have a huge bioload, but I feel the water "different" after I introduced a Wrasse and an Anthias. Also I see an increase of Coraline algae, which I'm happy with.

My CUC was reduced, and I think I need more, becuase I see poop on the sandbed overnight.

I was surprised seeing the crab eating the cyano.

On the parameters perspective, the only concern is that I'm running on 1.027 on Salinity. Not sure if its higher, but I've seen people on 1.021, 1.022...

I also have a crazy Diamond Goby, who snifs the sand all around.
