Can activated carbon and rowaphos have a negative impact?

Hi all, I'm tryng to find out why my coral's look unhappy 5 to 7 day's after a 30% weekly water change. My system seem's unstable even though it has been very clean for the last 2 month's. My tank is only 80l so this could be the problem also.

Any idea's?

If you stripped the water of all it's nutrients in a hurry I could see how some of the corals would be a little grumpy right now.

How old is the system? Not sure there is any merit to this but maybe try lesser of a water change... say 10-20%?

The systemis 5 year's old but downgraded about 1 year ago. The coral's alway's look great after a water change but gradually start to open less before my next water change.

Might be too clean, the need nitrates to feed. 2-5 normally
