View Full Version : DIY LED Won't Go Completely Dark

I've got a DIY LED kit I got from RapidLED that's working great except for one thing. When the fixture turns off at night the LEDs don't turn off completely.

I'm using a MeanWell driver with a RapidLED PWM Dimmer/Controller. The driver is plugged directly into the power strip, and the Dimmer/Controller is plugged into a timer. When the timer shuts off for the night, the lights go almost completely off, but there is still a tiny amount of light. You can't even see it unless the room is completely dark.

I remember having this problem before, and if I remember I fixed it by plugging the driver into the same timer as the dimmer, but that's not an option now. Anyone have any ideas besides also putting the driver into a timer?

Thanks in advance!

Meanwell ELN's don't dim to zero. Just their design. Need it on a timer..

Only way is to switch drivers to the LDD's

Which dimmer?

I was afraid of that. Ok, thanks! It's RapidLED's PWM dimmer/controller thingy. It's a few years old. Nothing fancy, but it does the job well!
