I've had my tank for about half a year now and I grabbed some stuff from Myrtle Beach to put in my tank when I first got it (mostly hermit crabs and seaweed that swept in between our feet that we picked up). One was a worm in a tube that we put in there. One turned out to be a little colony of fan worms (most of which were eaten by the hermits but there is one decent size one still alive) and the tubed one looks like a hobbit worm. It's tune faces down so it's hard to take a picture that shows it but it has five "tentacles" and sometimes it bobs its head in and out of the tube. I haven't seen the whole worm but his head is black with five white tentacles. It hasn't killed anything to my knowledge (maybe a hermit or too there are tons) but do they turn into a pest for anyone? It's not very big but looks sweet. His tube is made out of small rocks and he's fun to watch.

They can grow very large (multiple feet long) and can certainly be problems..
Its not a worm I'd want in my tanks..
