Hi, all I just purchased a used 180 gallon for a steal. I have some question in regards to setting it up. The tank has currently two built in corner overflows with one drain hole. There is another hole in the bottom of the tank outside of the overflow section for the return. I have never dealt with the bottom over own and return. Was wondering what is the best way to plumb and return for this tank. Will post pictures once home. Thanks in advance.

Google dursostand pipe.... unless you want to go with a full siphon method. Which is a lot quieter

Just had a similar situation with a 110 gallon used tank. Except mine had one overfllow with two holes drilled in the bottom for the drain and return.

I went with a durso style drain and haven't had any problems.

Just to be clear, you have three holes total, right? Two for drains and one for return?

so each overflow has 1 hole to do the plumbing? Your best bet is design a durso standpipe. If that gets too noisy, you can look into Maggie Muffler to cover the PVC.

return pipe, just make sure the outlet is right below water surface to prevent back siphoning..

make sure you scrub that overflow area. inside and out! It looks very dirty. any dust or pebbles can cause bulkhead leaks.

You have one drain and one return per overflow

Had a 120 with corner overflows, I cut them out and put bulkheads in all of them capped them and drill and install a Reef Savvy Ghost overflow. The tank looks so much better without the corner overflows and about 10% more space reclaimed.

Tank looks like it could be quite old. Full tank picture would help. Be VERY careful with a bottom panel return. Had my very first reef tank in 1988 (before the mass market tank makers could even spell reef ready) and it came with diagonal overflows with a single hole.

Will take full tank picture probably tomorrow, in process of resiliconing the tank for my easy of mind. Guy had freshwater in it before I got it but did not fill it enough to use overflows

Here is full tank pictures still dirty but that's fine since I am working on it. Also removed overflows. Now. I am attempting to figure out how to blk them out so you can see the plumbing behind it. The tank pictures our too big and won't let me attach them. Any ideas attempted to resize by adjusting photo but any more adjustments and I will remove some of picture.

Well I finally figured it out. What would yall suggest to either paint or someway of making the white pvc pipe return disappear some. The second picture is the overflow hole and return hole but baffle removed.
