Just curious but how long does it usually take for your clams to open in the morning. After my 1.5 hours of sunrise mode starting at 7am, and an additional hour, my clam has still not opened.
Yesterday it took until about 11 am for it to fully open. Is that normal?

Here's a picture of what it looks like now. You can see he mantle is still out but the clam is just not open

My lightening schedule is

7 to 830am sunrise
830 to 7 pm daylight
7 to 830 pm sunset
830 to 230am moonlight

This is from 2 orbit ic lighting in my 32g bio cube . Unfortunately the moonlight is set to be 6 hours long

Is it a crocea clam? what par is the clam getting? Any sign of pests?

It should open within a short time after lights come on and even some of my previous clams stayed open most of the night.

In my experience that is not normal. My maxima starts openning during "sunrise". I have only had this one clam and only for about 8-9 months, but since it has grown noticably in that time, I consider it successful.

How long have you had this clam? And recent changes in lighting schedule? Anything shading it? Water parameters?

Anything possibly bothering it? Ex. Hawkfish oerching on it?
