Taking fish from high sg to lower sg

I am planning on getting some fish from LA. Three of the fish will be coming fro Divers Den and two from LA. One ships the fish wit a sg of 1.017 and the other at 1.025. I am not sure wwhich is which.

I know that you should raise the low sg slowly, over a couple days so I am going to set up my first TTM tank at 1.017. Can the fish that come at 1.025 be but into the 1.017 without any problems?

IMO, yes. Fish can take a dip in salinity better than a rise in one.

Lowering salinity is much easier on the fish than going the other way due to osmosis. So bring them down to the same sg and then raise them up slowly during your qt period.

I've lost a fish lowering salinity rapidly. So now I take my sweet time if I'm raising or lower Sg. Personally I would isolate the fish from the different Sg shipments and slowly adjust to bring them to a common QT. I would shoot for about 4 or 5 days to make the transition.

Personally I wouldn't mix fish from DD and LA in QT. Interestingly enough I have never had a fish from either source at that low of a salinity.
