As title says. Not having any luck at all. Anyone know of any sources?

I saw in a thread below that Vivid might have some, but called and they guy said he had no malu nems... :(

Thanks!

That's because most stores in socal (probably nationwide too) label Malus as Sebae anemone. I have never seen Malus ID'ed properly at LFS, ever.

The bluish anemone next to a green BTA in center-left is actually purple and looked like Malu. If you ask them whether or not they have a purple sebae they will likely say yes unless they sold it. I'm sure they will be happy to email you pictures as well if you ask them nicely.

Try Ibluewater. If none on website, call them and ask if they have one.

Definitely take the time to read what others have said about iBluewater -- it's been hit or miss -- especially for the money asked (their prices are HIGH).

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll call Vivid again tomorrow and see what they have to say.

I've looked at iBluewater and they have purple malus on the site...but DANG, over 300 bucks. When found locally or even when in stock (which they are currently not) at Live Aquaria, they're about 25-50 bucks.

If anyone has seen any others at stores willing to ship, let me know.

Thanks all!

If you keep checking Liveaquaria divers den you will see them pop up here and there, but you gotta be fast on it.
I agree w/ coralsaddiction, most LFS have no clue, and yes, they often get mislabeled as just a sebae, which I'm not sure why anyone even uses that ID anymore, clearly a Malu is extremely different from a Crispa, which is the other commonly refered to as simply a sebae.

Yeah, I've been stalking DD/LA for over a month and unfortunately nothing. I found one red malu at a LFS for $20...and I wasn't ready for it. It sat in the store for 1.5wks, came back when I was able to...and gone :(...I should have just bought a 10g tank for it...

Stupid me!

Most of us have been there, but yeah I don't see red ones often at all, and definitely not for $20, but if you weren't ready passing on a gem is better than harming it, so you did the right thing, they are out there, be patient.
My last malu took 6months of searching.
Comb LFS, just don't expect they know what they have, you're going to have to know usually, usually the ringed stubby tentacles tell ya, but not all are ringed.
