How do I know if my tank is infect with Ich

I've had a wrasse for about 9 months with no symptoms. Last week several white spots were viable on his tail fin. They lasted about 1 day and were all gone. Yesterday I noticed two spots on his tail fin and today they are gone. I'm not sure if this is even Ich. Respiration is normal.

None of the other fish show any signs of illness. I haven't added a fish in 9 months although I frequently add coral. The wrasse is a pig and eats like crazy.

Next time can you get a pic? I had something similar on a clown that I'd had for a few years. White spot on fins for a few days then disappeared. I assume it was ich.

From what I've read, fish can have ich and with a healthy immune system they keep it in check and its not really a problem.
