FAQ #24: Is having a protein skimmer that's rated larger than your tank advantageous?

Are you running an oversized skimmer? How about an undersized one? Regardless, let me know. I'd love to hear it!

I'm running a Skimz SM163 DC skimmer now on my overstocked 75 and it's working fine with only periodic minor adjustments.

In the past I listened to advic e and severel oversized my skimmers and it made them hard to tunze. The skimmers didn't seem to produce a consistent foam head.

My overall thoughts is oversize a little but don't go waaayyy overboard. This is also complicated by the fact that some manufacturer quote crazy numbers for their skimmers.

EDIT: I posted this before I watched the video.
