Hi Reef central.. Iv'e been lurking here for a while and researching on the web. I have a 93g cube that used to house my family's 13" Oscar. He was amazing but passed away a few months ago after 8 years with the family from a broken jaw after smacking the glass. I have always wanted to start a reef tank but have never had the right opportunity.

So now i want to start from the ground up and build a well equipped and stable setup. I have very general knowledge, but here are some starting points.

The tank is factory drilled (corner). I have an Eheim 1262 which was a lot of flow for the wet/dry i had before, but the Oscar needed it! Im wondering if thats suitable for the sump/refugium setup i want going forward. I am looking at a few sumps and would appreciate feedback if anyone has it.

1. Trigger Emerald 34 or Eshopps Filter. (R200, ADV200, or RS200)
Not sure if anyone has any feedback on the benefits or drawbacks of the three Eshopps models.

Im also trying to figure out if it might be better to do a separate sump and next to it a dedicated refugium?

For lighting I'm thinking the Radion G4 XR30

The tank initially will be FOWLR, and hopefully, if all go's well, eventually start with coral. Im thinking of skipping the live rock and sand, and instead on buying bleached dry, and starting from scratch to avoid any possible contamination issues.

The setup is no hurry, and i would rather go slow and build in layers.

Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for being such a great resource!
