The Green Bay Aquarium Society (GBAS) is proud to announce that we are fundraising this year for Project Piaba's work with the Rio Negro Fishery. 100% of admission received by GBAS will go towards this fund.

You can learn more about how Project Piaba is helping to protect this important fishery and the critically important habitat it helps preserve by visiting Project Piaba’s website and Facebook.

The Green Bay Aquarium Society (GBAS) will hold its 2nd Annual Freshwater/Saltwater Swap Meet on Saturday February 11th 2016 at the Starlite Club, W2091 County Rd JJ, Kaukauna, WI 54130.

Vendor set up begins at 9:00 am. The doors open to the public at noon and the event runs until 3pm. The event is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend. Admission is $2 for anyone over the age of 14. Refreshments will be available on site.

GBAS is a non-profit educational organization whose purpose is to further the study of all forms of aquatic life, to promote interest, exchange ideas, and distribute information concerning the aquarium hobby, and to encourage the breeding and display of aquatic life. The swap meet supports this purpose by providing an outlet for area hobbyists to sell the fish and corals they have propagated and/or to purchase varieties of corals and other aquatic life not readily available at area stores. New and used equipment will also be available as well as door prizes and raffles.

GBAS maintains several public aquariums, including those at the Brown County Central Library. Club meetings are held each month at different locations in the Fox Valley or Green Bay.

Project Piaba (http://www.ProjectPiaba.org) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to increase the environmental, animal welfare, and social sustainability of the Amazonian home aquarium fish trade, to develop and incorporate metrics through which this progress can be assessed, and to provide mechanisms to promote this industry.

Tables are $20 each and space is limited. If you would like to reserve your spot, email me at [email protected]

Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you to our vendors for coming out (all 40 of you!!!) and spending some time with us today! We really appreciate all of the time and effort it takes to bring all of your stuff to a swap meet!

Thank you to our members! It takes a LOT of hard work to plan and run a swap meet. We could not do it without you.

Thank you to our patrons! You guys showed up in full force today and all 324 of you were able to raise a whopping $500 for Project Piaba! This money will go towards protecting the rain forest through the sustainable harvest of ornamental fish!

We can finally take a short rest before our next event. See you in a few weeks!
