Mantis setup

I received a mantis recently having ordered a "assorted mantis shrimp 8-9cm" and received a 12cm spearer mantis I used him anyway, not sure the type but sure its pretty common

He's doing well and eating and doesn't touch any of my fish or corals since I keep him well fed, I think he is either blind or stupid since he doesn't have much sense of direction.

I'll let others chime in, but that might be one that you want to take back to the LFS. Spearers usually need a long vertically-oriented burrow in a very deep sand bed (8-12"). You can also use PVC but they won't do well just burrowing under a rock like a regular smashing mantis. He probably appears like he doesn't have a sense of direction because that species doesn't usually leave the protection of its burrow. Just a recommendation, but I'd send it back and ask that the vendor replace it at their cost. Best of luck to you!
