I've just ordered my new tank. 5ft(L) by 2ft(D) by 18inches(H). I have decided to buy AI hydra HD lights. Now, do I buy 3 hydra 26HDs or 2 hydra 52HDs.
The 3 X 26 option may give a more even spread but at the cost of 32 LEDS ( 3 X2 6 = 72, but 2 X 52 = 104!). With brackets, the 3 X 26HD option is only £15 more expensive, so cost is not a factor. Any suggestions??

Doubt 2 hydra 52's could cover 5 foot. Maybe two hydra 52 and one 26?

Agree I would do two 52's and a 26 in the middle if it is an SPS tank. Otherwise either of the other two options are probably fine for LPS and softies.

Hydra 26's much better option

How about two Kessil AP700s?

Either would work, and to increase spread you can simply raise the fixtures (I swear, I am going to start including that on every one of these threads where coverage is discussed), but I would probably go with three of the 26's personally.
