Hi guys,

I am about to set up a ADA Cube Garden 45-P Nano Reef. I live in the UK and definitely need an RODI Unit. Mz problem is that Im renting mz flat and I dont want to damage any of the copper piping with the usual feed/waste water clamps that come with these units. From what I understand these are screwed onto the piping and bore a small hole for the water feed and waste to pass through.

I would prefer to screw in something like a T-fitting and I was wondering if anyone knows if that's possibe? Can someone link me a fitting that might for this purpose?

I looked at my bathroom sink's water feed and say that this seems to have a fitting where I could attach a T-fitting:

Unit I~m thinking to purchase: http://www.ro-world.co.uk/acatalog/Domestic_Reverse_Osmosis_Water_Purifier_System.html

Most companies have a faucet adapter you can use.

Do you have an outdoor tap?

Yep.. Just need to add a T on the cold water line right at that connection you show in the pictures..
Something like this..

Technically that is correct, but just looking at the supplied pictures makes me a bit leery of messing with those (obviously) old lines. Not that it can't be done, but don't be at all surprised if it ends up becoming a little more involved. I think I would go with a faucet adapter in your situation. When you do move, there will be nothing to cap/remove/repair.

The actual Sink lines really need to be replaced in the op picture . but he can use the adapter shown above. but will also need a cut off valve.. before the RO/DI LINE....

As long as he does not mess with the compression fitting at the bottom it will be safe. those are brass and copper they corrode like that a lot

I am surprised to see the commercial no handle shut offs on them in a apt .. they are usually used in public bathrooms .

You should be able to a get a valve that will tread directly onto the faucet, which will have a 1/4" barb fitting to attach the R/O tubing, it will act like a bypass at yout Tap.

I use one of these...simple and easy. If I didn't rent and owned my own place I would do something better personally but this is simple to remove and put original back one on and no modifications and won't upset my landlord.
