Hi everyone I drilled for my overflow and return.. the overflow drilled find had a small chip out but is fine.. the return has a bigger chip but the gasket from the bulkhead covers it.. will I have a issue with this??

It happened to me too. I used silicon on both sides to install bulkhead and let it cure before installing rest of plumbing

As long as there are no observable cracks, you will probably be OK. No way to say for sure, because all chips are different. Agree with the earlier suggestion to use silicone sealant on both sides of the gasket and then let it cure for a week.

Call me crazy, but isnt your bulkhead backwards?
For the overflow?? No I have the glass hole kit.. their kit you have to put the nut in the inside of the overflow

Lol no problem.. at first when I was installing it I said the same thing cause I couldn't get the bulkhead inside but the instructions said otherwise lol

I just didn't trust myself in the long run with this.so i picked up another 20g long and I'm going to the coral reef tomorrow and their gonna drill my tank..

Most tanks that I drilled had chips and they lasted without leaking as long as the seal covers them.

You can always get a windshield repair kit to "fill" the chip. Just make sure it's level with the glass when you're done with it.

Yea the seal covers it but my concern is the bottom left corner it took about half the thickness of the glass

Thanks it's getting there got the jebao dc3000 return pump yesterday from tcr.. just waiting on the dry rock and salt to come in so I can finish getting it together and start cycling.. I pm'd you my cell when your ready to sell the light let me know

I currently have a 57 gallon with a 50 gallon sump... I had a frag tank on the same system but to it off line a while back.

Yea their ratings are off a bit at first I was gonna get a dc1200 but decided to get the 3000 and happy I did..

You might dig this thing... Man I had to dig this thing out...

It's my old setup I used for a refugium for my 29 gallon... It's a hob filter with an acrylic black light box that fits on it.

The filter pulls in water a flows over the cheato and the light obviously grows the cheato...

It grew cheato like you would believe and helped keep my nutrients in check...
