Hello guys. Thanks for all the wonderful help you guys give here all the time.

I'm getting everything together for my first saltwater tank and I have my RODI set up going for the first time. I have two 32g brute trash cans for storage. All I've done so far is rinse them out. Should I be cleaning them with anything else?

I have always just gone with the rinse and use plan and it's worked well for me. There can be release agents on the plastic so if you are really paranoid maybe some vinegar and then rinse.

Any particular kind of vinegar that people use for that sort of thing?

Rasberry vinegar with a touch of rosemary....

Just white should be fine ;)

I gave them a quick wash, however you will want to rinse every 3 months or so. They can get pretty nasty over time.

Quick rinse would be fine, as an advance warning, they will eventually smell like cat pee. Don't worry won't harm anything just doesn't smell pleasant.

I use brute cans. I just rinsed them out with RODI a few times and they have been fine.
