Just got a couple new frags and one of them, after being nicely mounted broke of its plug (its and unknown but looks like sps Afro or some branch looking frag). The frag itself did not break, it looks like it separated from whatever adhesive attached it to the plug. For right now, I used some water weld and mounted it directly to some rock. Will it be ok or do I need to deal with it some other way?

Not a problem. Most of us take them off the plugs before going into our systems to lessen the chance of pests. You can glue it back onto a new plug or your rockwork.

Thanks I wrapped the bottom in waterweld and stuffed it between a rock crevice.

Waterweld? Is it reef safe epoxy?

JB Waterweld, and yes its completely reef safe. It's what most of us use as its about a 1/4 of the price of anything made for reefs and is the same stuff. Some people don't like it because its stark white, but given time it purples up just like rock.
