Adding floor inside elos stand?

Want to strengthen stand and add a false bottom so that my sump doesn't sit on floor. Was thinking about buying some heavy duty L brackets and screwing into the four corners and setting 3/4 melamine on top. Ideas?

Sounds fine..
I'd just use some 1"x2" or whatever (never seen inside that stand) vs angle brackets though.. And just paint or poly whatever you put down there to avoid water/swelling issues..

Any reason to use the wood vs stainless brackets? I live in an apartment and was trying to avoid any cuts/painting hence the melamine.

For swelling, I was planning to layer the bottom with something and go about 4" up the sides.

Brackets are fine if thats what you have got to work with..

And yes if you are also putting down a liner then you are fine there too..
