I took the stock hood off so I could upgrade lights. I have a big time jumper jawfish and I'm worried he's going to get past my temporary cover. Does anyone have experience making a bow front tank lid? I'd like something secure that my cords can go through in the back. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you want something permanent or just a temporary solution. A permanent lid/hood will take a fair amount of carpentry/cabinetry skills not to mention tools. An easy temp solution would be a piece of egg crate(light diffuser) from Home Depot or lowes.

Yeah I just want something like an egg crate lid. The issue is I don't know how to make one that will curve. The front of my tank is bow, most egg crate covers are squared.

They're plastic, cut it to fit with scissors.

I made my lid out of acrylic. This was a scrap piece but likely about 20 dollars worth. Cut to size and then rounded with a jig saw for the bow.

Added some feet to let air flow through and keep condensation down.
