Hallo reefers

Can anyone tell how to duplicate zooplakton in a marine aquarium, i know copepods and moina salina is part of the zooplakton, what Else is there? I am trying to replicate as close to natural system i can. I have macro algae in my DT.

Good Day :)

Brine shrimp and rotifers. Both feed on phytoplankton and live birth under good conditions. Though they'd be readily eaten by fish. A large fuge may give them a place to live and reproduce. Though not sure how well brine shrimp would do.

hello dg..perhaps i can help..... i run a ' plankton ' display....
i have a 19 inch tall 9 inch diametrr cyli der vase....four gallon in total...
i set it up with ease in mind... it has a five inch dsb...pistol shrimp.gobie set up... dsb is ezzential for zooplankton imo...forget about using any kin d of filtration...get used to water changes... throw away your tezt kits irrelevant here... get used fo water changes...
buy pairs of inverts that will breed....get used to loving the 'pezts' that most users here spend small fortunes trying to iradicate...zooplankton and hydroidz go hand in hand..aiptasia need ti go though... avoid introducing them nd you should survive....
start culturing phyto...get some rotifer cysts and welcome to the club...
you can pretty much negle t everything most hobbyist say here on rc...most of them freaK out over harmless worms...if you want 'zooplankton'... baby worms are a staple... get used to them...in fact encourage them..dsb helps....get rid of any impellers...feed your tank like its a begging puppy...and did i mention lots of water changes....
get a microscope and look at the things living in your sand...in your water. olumn...in your sump... i use air to move things about.... save the water fromyour changes and decant it... youll see things swimming Round... use syringes basters and droppers... put them back into you dt... and under stock...put your time and effort into one species instead of ten display animals...my gobies and pistols breed weekly...nothing like seei g your display look lke living soup....something most users here wont zee because theyve filtered out everything without understand diversity is what wll save theirdisplay...
of ourse smaller is better for my way of things... but if you wNt zooplankton...dont overdo it i the size dept...remeber its easier to do a fifty perxent water hnge on a five gallon disply than a fifty...
get some expensive quality live rock...it got good thingz on it you want...like species nobody talks bout here on rc... let some alge rot ina ucket of you wc water... then suck up that living loud and put it i your dt......did i mentio water changes....

az cor etra animals... use shrimps...al the differing species send out babies weekly...crBs as wel...pom pom and pircelins breed reularely.....look for those little clams...not tridacnas..but the ones on your live rock...snailz are a source of zooplamkton as well....sponge spores as welll...spk ges do e cellent in a planton displynas well..

forget bout brine shrimp...they are food... not zoplanktom..they will live better in yout fresh wTsr disply than in your reef.... give it try.... same with rotis bit rotis are better cor reef
so to summrize... throw Way your filterz... forget about powerheadz pumps...get a reLly god air pump...deep.sand bed is ggoodd..water changez....almost daily cor.first half yeR or zo... dont test... youll drive yourzelf crazy...wTer changes...understock...and get the planton culture mnual from florida aqua farmz....

im at pub now drinki beer...lots..dgas bout how this loks
....passionate about the animals i keep...want healthy animals...feed tem and hange their wTer....they dont care about the chemistry... they just want ffood...real food....and i think i neex to go home to bed

wow.. i just read my comment..i really was a bit dns..sorry for the crazy rc...it was definitely the intoxicants..but i stand with everything coherent i said....dont expect replies..just saying i was blasted..this hobby is static..it needs an intoxicated upstart once in a while... time to unplug and start g.a.s about the animals we keep..
hope you keep your animals long time and love them all..all the best ...martyn

Neither of those would be naturally found on a reef and neither would survive and reproduce in a normal, filtered, aquarium (fuge or no fuge).
