Hi everyone! I am very new to the saltwater aquarium scene. My tank is around 3 months old, and everything seems to be going normal in my tank as of right now..

(forgive my ignorance) Per the image attached you can see there is a brown stringy like substance growing from one of my coral. I was wondering if this is a perfectly normal and I should leave it alone, or should I remove it from the coral?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Looks like some algae of sorts from what I can see..
I'd pull the coral and pick as much of it off as I could to keep it from spreading/breaking off/traveling all over the tank,etc...
