Elos overflow -- edge of stand?

Anyone build their own stand for an elos aquarium? Seems like the overflow drain is at the very edge of the cabinet.. If you're using 2x4 as a frame, I assume this wont work since you'll block the overflow? Approximately how many inches from the edge of the tank is the drain?

I don't like their contemporary cabinet, would rather have a traditional stand.
