Hello,
Wanna know where to buy frag plugs cheap in bulk....
I don't like ceramic since I cut the stem with a bone cutter if needed to stick plug on rocks.

Ocean wonders 100 plugs are like $25 shipped in eBay.

Need plugs and disks....cheap but good enough quality.

Where do y'all buy?[emoji3]
Thanks....

Ebay seems to have the best prices, that's where I buy them.

I would like to pass on something I just learned about (from a fellow reefer) and thought it was a brilliant idea.

If you go to home depot or Lowes, go to the tile section. They sell mosaic tiles by the 12" x 12" square. On that 12 x 12 square are mini squares. Not sure how many, but it runs like $3 a sheet. Just make sure you get the unglazed tile.

For me, a square is a lot easier to wedge in to place, than a circled ceramic frag plug. To me it looks better too. they have rectangles, as well as squares.
Depending on sizes of tile pieces you want, you could potentially have close to 150 for $3

I've always been nervous about the glue that holds the fiberglass bits to the back. Do you have a way to remove that?

i asked the fellow reefer that told me this, about his process of using them. he said he peels them off the backing and leaves the glue on. he has not had one problem.

i was going to follow his lead, cause it definitely looks a lot better than the disks

take a razor scraper and that glue/backing comes right off. Can scrub it in water or whatever you want also to make sure its all off.

heres a quick example. This is a sheet of rectangle pieces, if you have longer frags or need a little longer "plug" than if you were to use the 1" or 2" square tiles.

either store will have them. from cheap to expensive, but you can buy them by the sheet. IMO, cheaper the better. they will get covered anyways. At least the natural stone color would blend in a little more and not stick out like sore thumb, like the white frag plugs do

I use this guy, good quality fairly cheap. 100 squares for $20

i'm in NJ and I got the plugs next day, if you're in PA you should get the same.

Yeah but ceramic plug is hard to cut the stem off

Hey - Great Idea!!! -

IMHO, not worth the effort I leave it be and my frags are growing like crazy

I sometimes cut the stem to stick flat plug on rock...

With ceramic plug it's tough to cut ...at least with a bone side cutter.

All of our products with stems have easy break away stems. You don't need to cut them off with anything they will snap off with just some light pressure from your thumb and index finger.
