Hi guys,
quick question... I just aquascaped my tank with Caribbean base dry dead rock and want to add some nice white sand... reason for dead dry rock = Eliminating pests (will have a quarantine tank too) and now I was wondering if I get the Caribbean ocean Bahamas if it is artificial live sand or real sand out of the ocean?
Because if it is from the ocean I might introduce pests again right?
What do you recommend???
Perhaps just dry sand?

If this "live sand" comes in a bag then it's basically just sand packaged in a biological supplement like the one in the link below. There are no pods, worms etc in it. To get the good stuff like this you might have to go to a fellow reefer. Being that you've already started with dead rock though you may as well just stick to the program and get dry sand. Just make sure to rinse it thoroughly before you add it to your tank.

+1 dry sand. It will be "live" shortly.

If there is a bigger boondoggle in this hobby than 'live' sand, I yet to encounter it.
