Does anyone have any experience with these?
LA has no listing, and Blue Zoo has only the sparsest info.
My LFS has two at a reasonable price.
I am considering one, if they make it until next week and will eat.
They look similar to Pakistani's, but with a nice yellow band around the dorsal fin.
It would be going into a 350 FOWLR that already has a Pakistani, Declivis, Heniochus, Yellow Face, Yellow Longnose, Dot Dash and Vagabond.

Yeah, my favorite butterfly of all.

What would you like to know? I'd recommend a good QT by the way. I housed mine with a yellow face and yellow longnoses, plus some angels, without any issues. The dusky and the yellow face always swam together.

Thanks for the reply. So little is on line about them in captivity.
I always do TTM plus 4 - 8 weeks observation, so that should give me time to figure out any issues.
Mostly I am interested in adaptability to aquarium life, diet, ability to get along with other butterflies and getting along with other fish such as angels and tangs.

For food I fed mostly meaty foods like clam, muscles, mysid shrimp etc.

Mine did wonderfully, I bought her at around 4.5". A voracious eater, and played nice with other fish (yellow face and longnose butterflies, regal and cherub angels, anthias) though she did have a more dominant personality without picking on anyone. Was always the first to get to the food.

So I purchased one of the 2 from my LFS last Friday.
She ( as far as I know ) ate a clam. Not with gusto, but she ate.
Since then I have only observed her eat once, some mysis. I have offered mysis, brine, Angel and Butterfly cubes, live and frozen clams and live oysters.
Today while doing TMM she nearly jumped out of the tank, so she has lots of energy and is not visibly wasting away. There are no signs of ich or any other parasites.
She's been in the US at least 3 weeks, but last nite I was up at 3 AM and she was cruising around the tank. Maybe still jetlagged?
Anyway, she appears healthy, but I am guarded about her prospects.
At what point can I consider her a 'survivor' and give her a name?
