Hi everyone,

About a month ago we watched our male and female seahorses do their courtship dance, but we were unsure that's what it really was until yesterday, when the male popped out about 100 babies. We set up another tank immediately and transferred them all there, they're doing fine. But, now only 24 hours after giving birth, it looks like the pair are dancing again!! Is this normal??

Congratulations!
Are you planning on raising the fry?
Many times the male will become pregnant soon after the fry are released. Others with more breeding experience should chime in.

Definitely not uncommon for a new egg transfer to occur the SAME day of the birthing, or, soon thereafter.

Yep, my male would release the fry in the morning, he and his mate would court all afternoon and by bedtime he would be pregnant again! It exhausted me just watching them.

Yep perfectly normal. The male will get "pregnant" right away and this will happen for two or three broods and then stop for a while. When I had built up my stock of erectus adults to about 120 I was getting way more fry then I could handle. I once had 3 broods born on the same day and 5 in one week.

Now is the time to work on your fry rearing skills. You will get better with practice.
