Anyone try vibrant reef from underwater creation? If so. How did it do?

It's worked well on bubble algae. I didn't stick with it long enough for my red turf algae.

did it have any bad effects on coralline algae?

I believe there are multiple threads on vibrant, unfortunately I don't have the links but I know they are there, and people have put their experiences

I tried it and it had absolutely no effect on my tank at all.

it works, but maybe to good. I usually scrape my glass every day. It has been 2 weeks and my glass is still doesn't need to be scraped.

I really didn't have any coralline algae because this was in a temporary tank. There was no ill effect on softies or LPS but it did make the few digis pale.

I had great results. Tank has never looked better. Won't make up for bad husbandry but completely riddled my tank of my splotchy hair algae that nothing else seemed to touch. I already had a little cyno and it seemed to exasperate it but finished off with a little chemi clean after I stopped using the vibrance. Tank has renamed algae and cyno free for a couple of months now.

i got some and put it in last night. it could be me, but i swear i see it depleting the hair algae already. Nothing in the tank seems to be hurting. chaeto seems to be ok so far too

Wiped out bubble algae. Took 2-3 months Dosed 2 times per week. Now dosing once every two weeks. I highly endorse it.

Just be sure to export the nutrients that the dying algae is adding to the water.

It did in my tank, has almost wiped it off on the back wall.
It just seemed to fall off.

Been absent and this is the first time I've heard of Vibrant Reef Cleaner. Looked more into it. Think I'll pick up a bottle and try it out.

I have a 90g that the live rock came from a badly managed tank. The tank was full of hair algae, the water was very cloudy, almost to where you could not see anything in the tank. When the rocks were moved, the water turned brown, looking like coffee.

For a few years after put in use, this tank has always had algae issues, until I launched an ATS in 2014. I did not have hair algae since then, but the ATS is small, and able to keep the HA away, but I still get surface algae on the back wall, overflow box, etc. The waterline also gets a muddy feeling film, almost sludge like.

I used this Vibrant product one week, and it knocked out all of this. I had placed my ATS screen in the sump of my 150g so it would not be affected. It was very impressed how well it worked. I put my ATS back to work, and now the tank looks better than ever.

Good point about coralline... it's algae too, only encrusting. So make sense that it might get knocked out.

what is ATS?

this stuff is pretty damn good. i been dosing maybe 2wks and clearly is working. Definitely did not think about the export of the dying HA nutrients. now i know why my parameters are off some. just did a water change and took a handful of chaeto out. it has no effect on my chaeto or choralline algae either. im actually after 4months,starting to see a huge growth of it. i can not wait til it is all over my rocks.

i did some quick research on ats. i guess i do not understand that if algae can grow on it, why would it not grow on the tank or rocks?. how does it stop growing on the ats and not the whole system?

There are some very long threads in the advanced forum on the ATS. Short answer is that the ATS ideally removes nutrients to the point that only the specialized conditions inside the unit (mainly very high light levels) will be sufficient to grow algae. The reality is that conditions are often not ideal, and you will still see some algae growth inside your tank; thus the need for herbivores.

You grow the algae preferentially on the scrubber. Lights and surface perfect, so it uses the nutrients and nothing grows in the tank

hmmm. i am definitely going look into this more. thanks

I have not seen any hair algae or any type of macro algae in both tanks since I deployed my ATS's 3 years ago.
