Smallest diameter of 9430 skimmer

Hello there, my previous skimmer stopped working and I am interested in the Tunzi 9430. My previous skimmers narrowest diameter was 10 1/2 inches. That was the space between the bottom of my display tank and the top of my sump. I was wondering if there's anyway to fit the 9430 through the 10"5/8 gap? What's the diameter of the base of the cone? Could I attach the pump and outflow strainer when it's in the sump?

At the narrowest point a 9430 is slightly over 11 3/4" diameter and the pump screws on, so it would be very difficult to attach or remove in sump.
