I have my main display, I setup a spare hydra 52 over my QT tank. The problem is, my QT tank is on the other side of the house and can't reach the AI director.

Assuming I setup the hydra 52 with it in range and move it to the other room will it hold the program? I would hope so but I never keep my hopes up when dealing with junky AI products. :(

You could program it as local then you have no problem. Not sure why you think AI is junky.

Well,

Apparently even after programming via the director I need to have the director close by. These Hydras wont "hold" a program so now I need to buy another director... Frustrating junk equipment!

The reason I think they are junk is because I had a chance to see ecotechs in action. Much, much, much better light.
