View Full Version : MP40 - wet side won't turn

So I bought a couple used MP40's today. Once fired up and works fine, the other not so much. This is probably user error.

So when I plug in the unit (dry side) you can hear it turning inside the housing & running fine. (for short intervals, low speed, trying to set the mode).

Then when I actually install it, and it attaches to the wet side, it clicks 1 time and it is like it can't spin the wet side. So then it flashes green and red. I changed wet sides and it does the same thing, so its not the wet side.

Am I doing something wrong?
It seems almost like the magnet is so strong it is pulling it against the plastic housing an getting stuck.

thanks
Shane

I think you want the EcoTech forum here...

This is the Neptune Systems forum. Granted... there might be folks here that can help, but I think you'll do better over there!

Remember that the dry and wet sides need to be a certain distance apart so that the magnetic force is within spec, and the proper spacer for your tank thickness should be used.

What model are you running?

kurt_n, sorry you are correct. I was reading about the wxm and got carried away.... I'll ask
over there.

Breadman03, they are older MP40w models.

Since they are older models, you have the pin spacers. Just in case you didn't have it, here (http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/FULLMANUAL_Revision1.3.pdf) is the manual. Make sure that you have the proper setting there.

I assume that the propellors on both wet sides spin freely by hand.
