green star polyps not growing? why not?

My green star polyps are simply not growing I always have heard they do good in about any set up my xenias on the other hand which I purchased at the same time are growing like weeds...I don't have much nutrients in the water am I right to assume this is why the polyps aren't growing????

That would be my guess. What are your phosphate and nitrate levels? xenias are excellent at gobbling up nutrients. They are probably out competing the GSP. Try feeding your fish more, fish poo makes everything grow.

nitrate 0 by saifert test and phosphorus 2 (phosphate 0.1) by hanna test. I do have some LPS in there but I know I can allow it to get higher

no softies will grow at nitrate 0 they need some nutrients
