View Full Version : Piggyback Kit Installation

I have a MaxCap MC-RODI-MF-90 and recently bought a Piggyback Kit so I could produce 180 gpd.

I installed it (hopefully correctly) but I'm unsure. As installed I'm producing water at the original rate of 2:1 (4500ml:225ml) at 60 psi.

I didn't cut the flow restrictor at all. Should I? How far (2")?

Thanks!

This is where I added the flow restrictor:

That's fine, don't change a thing.

Not changing anything doesn't make any sense to me... at a production of 225 ml per minute, I'm only producing 85.5 gpd. I added a second membrane so I could produce closer to 180.

There should be a black tube from the carbon into the cap of the bottom membrane.

At the other end of the bottom membrane should be a black tube from the yellow collar fitting to the cap of the top membrane.

The two blue tubes from the two blue fittings connect together with a tee and go into one of the ASO Valve's unmarked ports.

The yellow fitting on the top membrane connects to the Y with the yellow tubes. Everything downstream of that is OK.

I think yo are only making water with one membrane.

Plus, all your photos show the Flush Valve is open.

I won't be able to check everything until tonight. Do you have a line diagram that I could use to verify that it's all connected correctly?

This is what I see...

Bottom membrane has a black tube to the carbon

Bottom membrane Waste (yellow) goes into top membrane

Both membranes blues Tee into the first DI

Top membrane yellow (with full length flow restrictor) goes directly to waster

We don't have a drawing of your exact configuration. I'll ask to have one made.

I think I now see the problem. The two RO blue tubes need to tee together BEFORE the one combined tube goes in and out of the ASO Valve and then on to the DI stages.

I tee'd the 2 blue lines before the ASO as suggested and still my clean water production in a minute is at 275ml
