I've had a RIC in my tank for the last few months it has two heads and one head seems to be receeding. It was pitched up next to a hammer, at first I thought it had been stung so I moved the hammer away but seems to get worse and the second d head is getting the same condition. It's jagged around d the edges almost like its being eaten. I have not seen anything bothering it during the day. Any advice please?

I'd try moving it up a few inches and maybe even bump your temp a little. I keep my tank at 82f. My ricordeas are lower in my tank, but they do like light.

I thought that maybe a bacterial infection. I will get a pic in the morning when the lights come on. What would you recommend on treating it?

As far as I know, it's not easy. But I've never tried it before, so I really don't know. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I have one that I need to move as well. It's getting starved out by the one next to it.

Starved out?

Starved out?

Yeah, one of my ricordeas is getting big, and he's crowding the one next to him. It's to the point where one isn't getting enough light and is shrinking. Eventually it'll shrink to nothing and die away. It happend a while back with this same mushroom. He's a beast! He's got some impressive bulb (?) extension too.

I have attached a couple of photos. The smaller one was perfectly round upto a few weeks ago. As you can see there is only about half left and as you can see on the edge of the bigger one that is also starting to go on the edge.
