View Full Version : Can anyone identify this fish?

This came from liveaquaria with a group of 6 long spine cardinals. I think it is some type of cardinal but it's definitely not a longspine. Any ideas? I'm assuming it's not something normally collected for sale since it isn't a very impressive looking fish.

You could be right. I looked up some pictures and it does looks similar to young girdled cardinals.

I would guess Threadfin Cardinal (no cardinal expert here in any way), but either way I would as LA for a refund on that fish. It isn't as advertised...
Now this is an awesome cardinal, I have never seen one of these before!

I think it's a zoramia viridiventer (fragile cardinal). They are pretty similar to threadfinsbut stay smaller. I've them come in mixed with threadfins before.
