View Full Version : Gigantea Carpet Bleached??

Received new tan gigantea from live aquaria on 3-17-2017 and am extremely excited. The specimen arrived inflated, closed mouth, sticky foot and after temp, drip, and light acclimation, he is attached exactly where I wanted him (obviously that is subject to change at his discretion). He is getting optimal flow and great lighting and has only deflated slightly to flush waste and immediately re inflated all while keeping a tight mouth. My only concern is that it appears to be possibly slightly bleached. It looks worse with lights on but tentacles appear white in the light and light tan with lights out. Base and mouth are nice and tan and purple dot pattern underneath is nice and bold colored. The foot is super stick however the tentacles do not seem to be. Is this something to be overly concerned with or is this typical of a new arrival?

Check the anemone forum. Did you treat with Cipro? Looks awesome but that lighting makes it difficult to assess the anemone.

Did not treat with cipro, appeared very healthy upon arrival other than light coloration concern.

Post this in the anemone forum. There are many gig owners there who maybe able to help.

Light coloration, but not bleached.
