Hello everybody, I have an overflow full of these nightmares. I'm working in the fish room all day. My question is can I leave my overflow empty all day and would that kill them? I got the stand pipe out, I'm more worries about the ones in the bottom I can't reach.

I think 48 hours would be better. You can also fill the overlow with RODI water and wait overnight to kill them. Assuming volume of overflow of very little compared to the rest of the tank, it should not change your salinity.

Why do you want to remove them? Unless they are blocking the flow or something, they just provide free filtration. Ones close to corals can sometimes irritate them but that should not be an issue for ones on overflow.

My display has tripled tripled it's population in Last 6 months. I figured if I hit them really good once or twice now it will slow them down. I have plenty in the tank I'll never be able to reach. They also sharp and creeping up on my duncan.

That ain't nothing.

https://goo.gl/photos/RtdDsR1sSuZhPCnKAI soaked them in vinegar and scrapped it all off.

Wasn't very observant and itI just thought it was some form of algae and paid no attention until it began to interfere with the flow of the returns.

Ive seen a few post about them lately and took it as a sign. Like I said they have been more and more noticeable. Looking at my cage on my overflo I figured they aren't going help the life span of my pumps either. Lol hkgar I don't want it to become a something...Not trying to get off topic but, Did you see the video of clogged overflow with bristle worm. I just said on my goodness

I'm sorry to tell you but you have the plague. I had this type in my tank in addition to the red ones. All those mini tubes are formed as the snail is growing. As they get bigger they make larger and larger tubes.

Shoot, I've had those forever in my sump. Why are they a plague? If they find something to eat then they are doing me a favor by eating it and breaking it down.

You definitely want to keep them in check. Aggravating corals. Sometimes a fish will "spaz out" and I worry they are gonna snag one day. I fed cyclopezz to a banggai that stopped eating and here we are...
