Does anyone have a recommendation for an auto top off that works well with a rimmed tank? I have a 40 breeder reef and I'm trying to find an ATO that does not require me to keep my water level below the bottom of the tank trim. I was looking at the Tunze Osmolator (regular and nano) but both seem to require the water level to be around an inch or so below the trim.

I appreciate any suggestions!

simply raise the sensor to achieve the level you want..

I have the same problem with my 60 gal. I use the osmolator nano and I am trying to figure out how to modify it. Need to be careful when the water is higher than the water house it will siphon tank water back to the fresh water container.

I have a 40G breeder, and I use tunze Osmolator. You can raise the sensor so that the water level is just above the bottom of the tank black trim.

To prevent siphon effect, just make sure the ATO output tube is above the tank water line.

I use an avast marine ato on my 55 specifically for this reason.

Avast was also on my list. I took a chance on Tunze because I got a good used one for cheap, and it worked. I can't see the water level because it's above the trim.
