About 5 months. They're ceramic frag tiles I guess

I'm most impress with the pieces on the right.

Some of them looked like they were dead, but has now come back pretty nicely

Wow, that's awesome for only 5 months. They must really like that placement in your tank. Are you target feeding? I have lots of acans and love watching them grow new heads. Ten months growth below. 370529370530

Watching this. Yeah what's the Params and regimen? I've got a whole load of plates at the moment and with the room around them they've opened right up. I've also switched to T5s and the colours are coming back now.

Great looking acans!

This tank was set up around 14 months ago. Initially as a bare bottom

100 gallon tank
Curve 7 skimmer
Tunze return pump
Rw8 along w 2 6105 that sometimes work
Kalkwasser top off
Some zeo rocks in sump in a filter bag

I have other sps tanks, and ones with aefw, so I had been spending all my reef time dipping testing those. I main just took the, leave it alone approach with this tank.

Here are things I would dose occasionally:
Mecoral amino
Kz zeobak
Kz zeostart
Kz amino
Kz sponge power
Prodibio tried that for a while, but lately mostly doing partial zeo

The tank struggled for a few months, I then added sand since it was struggling anyways.

I got those acans around oct. after they gathered themselves, I would try to feed them lps pellets once or week or so for about a month. After that I just left everything in this tank alone.

I stopped changing water about 9 months ago. I think I may have done a 20 gallon water change once.

I used to do it more, and the tank just wasn't stable, so I just ignored it while I went to fight my aefw in my other tank.

Funny thing is that I recently moved in a purple monster, and in this tank it has started sprouting growth tips

Optionman

None of my acans are shaded. Almost all are 3/4 way down 24 inch deep tank with hydra 26 leds about 8 inches above water line. One acan is near top and it's doing great too. I can't leave mine on sand bed due to wrasses.

Yeah switching to T5s only has worked great, within 3-4 weeks a piece I had that was mostly green coloured up. Before and after of this..

Digi is 3/4 down 60x24x24 inch tank with 4 hydra 26 leds. Just bought it early February and already growing fast. I run my leds without any white/red/green spectrum and high blues and UV.
Here's a photo after 2 months!

I run high Alk (10-11) and my phosphates and nitrates also run high, .50ish and 50ish, but I've never had any algae issues and my growth (including SPS) is great. I run bagged carbon, skimmer, and CArx, nothing else.
