I'm considering one of these for my 20 gallon long and wanted to here some opinions first. Thanks. :)

If u take it out for cleaning unplug it. I burned up the pump in mine. Mine skimmed pretty well but took about 2 weeks to break in. If it were me I would spend a bit extra and get the reef octopus 50.

I used one on my old 22 gallon aio for about two years, and it pulled out some nasty gunk. Ive recently started another 21 gallon nano with a sump, and I put it in the sump to save space (and money). As bioload builds, I'm confident it's will work just as well in this tank. It's actually pretty impressive for its size; the only improvement point I could suggest is that the suction cup feet don't hold incredibly well, so when you remove the cup to empty it, it can move a bit and you have to adjust the airflow. Nothing too crazy.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Amazon was selling one of these for about $50 so I decided to pull the trigger. It should be delivered today so I'll let you know how it works in a few days or so.

One of the best/cheaper nano skimmers made. Works like a champ and is a 1/3 of the price of some of the bigger name models, and works 3 times better. When I had my biocube it pulled some nasty gunk. Nothing like a traditional in sump cone skimmer, but it works well none the less.

had one on my 20g. Worked great.

It's as good as it gets for an in-tank/in-sump skimmer. There are better HOB skimmers (I think the AquaMaxx HOB-1 gets good reviews?), but for in-tank, I haven't seen better. Low maintenance, consistent performance, simple install.

Look up the airline mod for it on YouTube.

I just got the skimmer yesterday and so far so good, but it's still breaking in so it will be a day or two before I see any results.

Look up the airline mod for it on YouTube.

Will do... Thanks. :)

Well the skimmer finally started working on Easter Sunday, but I'm still getting way too many micro bubbles for my liking. The ones in the water column don't bother me so much, it's the ones that are accumulating on top of the water that are the problem. Oh well... Perhaps these will go away in time.

I'll be mounting the Kessil A160WE on May first btw. :)

was debating on the aquaticlife or the tune 9001, seems the aquaticlife has been around longer with more reviews

They've both been around as long as each other, and both have tons of reviews. Most people tend to lean towards the Aquaticlife because a few of us vocal users on here tried both, had a hard time with, and were underwhelmed by the performance of the Tunze 9001 vs. the Aquaticlife, which once broken in, worked like a charm. I've had mine running for 2.5 years now with no issues.

I love Tunze products in general, but the 9001 performance was disappointing.
