planning ahead for my new reef tanks in a new house with a fishroom. I,ve been running a reefkeeper lite for years but I want more. so I,m looking at the top of the line apex, but, I,m reading all the posts in apex community and it seams like there are many issues. would anyone like to give me input to what I think I,m seeing.

Probably a combo of several things. The new Apex2016, or whatever its name is, is just that... fairly new. Always going to be teething problems with new releases no matter how good the testing is. And then there's always the issue that people only post when they have problems. No one posts just to say "Yup... another day with no problems."

normally I would agree, but this is not apple selling millions, and a few bad ones. we are talking about a limited market, so, is the percentage much higher??? when I,m spending $50 I,ll take a chance here I,m looking at $1200 with 2 powerheads

My local reef club has about 50 member and easily more than 1/4 have 2016 Apexs. None have issues. Most are also in the high tech industry and know how to work wifi/networking setups and learning the Apex language.

You asked for input, you got my opinion.
