So I have this guy in the QT. Been treating with copper for 2 weeks now. Yesterday I noticed he was hiding and today I saw this. Also the fins in the side are clipped.

I did a massive water change and added paraguard. Dont know if thats enough or if I should buy something like furan 2.

I have a blue tang that is also showing some light patches in the body.

Im thinking is fungal related.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Pics aren't coming up, unless it's on my end.

Is there still copper in the water, can paraguard be used with copper?

There's no copper

Can't see pics either. If there's an open wound I know you would you want to avoid formaldahyde based treatments (not sure if this applies to paraguard which uses some other aldahyde).

Tell me if you can see the pic now

Is that like raised skin or is it cotton-like? It almost looks like a heat blister but IDK if fish can even get those. Is it possible it laid against a heater?

What are the parameters of that tank? That tank looks nasty for a QT. I would definitely check ammonia. It looks like when you added the Paraguard, it may have killed off the bacteria, reasoning for the cloudiness.

The water parameters are ok. What you see is algae that's in the glass.

I had to clean it out that's why it looks cloudy.

There is no heater in the tank. I live in a tropical country si there is no need for it.

Today I can see some redness in the wound.

I already applied furan 2. Yesterday was the second dose.

Tomorrow I will do a water change and then I have to leave for a week.

I want to make sure that I'm applying a correct treatment.

Thanks for the help.

Not knowing exactly what it is, and leaving for a week is kind of a death sentence. Is the tank even cycled properly?

The fish is fine. Eating, active. Can't see to much of a problem. The tank has been working for over 4 months. So yes, it's cycled.

I will do a water change tomorrow. All parameters are fine.

Well whatever it is seems to be improving. Something is bothering the fishes thats for sure, the blue tang now has a scratch in the forehead. I saw it scratching against the pvc pipes the other day.

Im scratching my head with what it could be. Now they are under cupramine and pazipro.

If that dosent work I will have to look into fungal/parasites. I though I had those cover with the furan 2 dose.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
