Opinions needed...

Have a Mr. Aqua 12 gallon long - 36 inches long (Dimension: 35.4" x 8.3" x 9.4").

Would the 24-v2 do the trick as far as coverage area in your opinion- like the price!

I think you would have alot of light spill, but if that doesnt bother you a 24 would be fine.

I have seen people run the 24 on a 40b just fine. I run a 32 over my 40b and it also works great.

I think it will work. But as high as you'll need it to cover the extra 6" at each end, you will spill a lot of light out the front and/or back.

If you used a 32" V2 you could mount it lower (closer to the top of the tank on the adjustable legs) and the light spill out the front and back would be reduced.

And given that your water is only 9" to 10" deep, be VERY careful about how high you set the power levels to start. I have a 10" deep frag tank. I don't care about the light spill as it's a work tank in a back room. I have my fixture hanging 18" off the water and run whites at 10" and my blue at 80%. But this isn't a V2 fixture and it quite old (leds aren't as bright as when it was new). I'd suggest your V2 be set at 10% white and 20% blues (and maybe even lower) until you get to play with your corals.
