View Full Version : AI sol blue for refugium

So I`ve got a spare ai sol blue light and was curious as to whether or not it would work for a refugium light. It`s capable of running blue, white,or uv individually or various combos.

Anyone got a recommendation as to a certain combo of the 3 bulbs or the best way to set it up.Maybe it won`t work and I should just get a dedicated light?

Definitely am going to give it a try. Got any idea if I should just go full spectrum or tweek it to the lower purple and blue side and tone down the white?

I'd tone down the blue and go towards pure white, to simulate mid day sun in shallow water.

I agree with the above. I have a sol blue and it grows macro algae pretty well.

...but grow lights are now 4:1 red:blue lights, right?
Why not tone it towards the blue spectrum?

May just give that a try..What are you thinking? Tone down the white 50% or something?
