I have a Apollo led fixture that is dimmable that I want to use as a plant grow light. My problem is I need a controller to use it. I sold my Apex so I can't get the light to come on with out it. My question is how do I turn this fixture into working without a controller? Just want to pug it in to outlet to come on.

Surprised it doesn't default to "on".. but anyways:
any method that turns on a Meanwell ELN will work..
ELN-60-48d drivers in some.

9V battery across the dim circuit works..
10v ps is better.. ;)

Thanks the battery works.

What is the expected signal for the lights?
5V PWM? 10V PWM? 0-10V analog?,etc...

I too am surprised it doesn't default to full on without a controller signal though..
But I don't know anything about that specific light..

I hooked it up to a 12v ac adaptor and it works. Had to hook up the White and the blue Drivers. And it worked, now will see if it makes a good grow light if the spectrum is good for plants. Thanks for the help

Is it expecting a 12V signal? That wouldn't be very common as most are 10V max or less..

If not you could be doing damage to it in the long run..

Yes it is, it is a multi volt transformer it has 6v 9v and 12v I will change it to 9v so it won't cause any damage to the lights. Thanks

Surprised you didn't fry the driver. Some Meanwell dim circuits are reported to be quite sensitive to more voltage than 10..........

Those Meanwells won't "light" w/out a voltage at the dim wires..

BTW: Only saw one photo of the innards of the Apollo.and that had the meanwell driver.. No guarantee that is what is inside, but behaves the same way..
10V and a "pot" and you have at least manual dimming..

As a word of caution, a lot of those "variable voltage" transformers are not very accurate..Best to get a 10v switching power supply.
Cheap enough everywhere...

amps don't really matter. dim circuit requires little current.
@ 9v you will be under 100% output..
